Most kids my age, 20 year old college kids, are going out. Most of my friends are in Santa Barbara right now partying it up, getting drunk out of their minds, and grinding on strangers that they will probably make out with. The whole partying scene never appealed to me and I have practice at 7 o clock tomorrow morning.
I spent my Halloween weekend being weird and nerdy. It started Friday night with me, a bowl of pasta, my couch, and reruns of Project Runway (I'm still really bummed that Mondo didn't win). I had to relax that night because I has to get up at 6:30 on Saturday morning to race. On Saturday I woke up early and got my race on. It was bad. Real bad. I let a lot of people down and after that, I was not in a good mood. In an attempt to raise my spirits my dad took me to Bunch-a-Lunch at Shakey's and I felt a little better. Later in the day some of the girls on my team came over and we made video covers of Taylor Swift songs dedicated to the guys on our team (They did awesome at the race btw). We spent the rest of Saturday night baking, being crafty, and working on homework. We just can't be tamed on Saturday nights, our inner animals come out.
So today, Halloween day, I am once again being out of the ordinary. While most 20 year old girls are dressed as slutty pumpkins, slutty firefighters, slutty just about anything you can think of, I am dressed up as Harry Potter. Slutty Harry Potter? Nope. Just plain old Harry Potter. It's an awesome costume. I spent my morning running and doing homework. Next, my teammates and I went to cheer on our volleyball team dressed like nerds. After the game we went to Ralphs and bought pumpkins and carved them. Now we're sitting around doing more homework and watching the Giants play the Rangers (GO GIANTS!). We're waiting for more of our teammates to show up so we can go trick-or-treating.
We are squares. While most college students are binge drinking and dirty dancing, we will be roaming around neighborhoods getting free candy. We're immature children at heart and we like it. Watch out greater Riverside area, we're coming for your candy!
