At a young age I decided that when I grew up I wanted to be a lawyer. Since that decision I have slowly been working at getting there and until recently, things looked up. High school diploma: check. Working towards getting my BA in a major that will be good for law school: check. The next step, LSATs and getting into a good law school.
I am determined to make my dreams of becoming a lawyer happen and because of this I realized that I should probably start preparing to get into a law school and that requires studying for the LSATs. I have year until I actually have to take the test but I figure I need all the time I can get. Earlier this week I went to Barnes and Nobles and bought Kaplan's LSAT Premier book that guarantees that I will get a higher score if I use it.
After buying the book I went home eager to get started and full of hope. Most of the topics in the prep book seemed manageable until I reached the section about logic games. Logic games require a lot of concentration, which, at times, I lack. This was one of those times. I turned to the first question and automatically knew that these questions were going to pose a major problem in my getting a good LSAT score.
Here is what was going through my head as I tried to figure out the first question:
Ron washed a total of seven objects after eating his lunch. what in the world did this guy eat that dirtied 7 objects??? Two of the objects were pieces of china: a mug and a plate. Two were pieces of glassware: a water glass and a juice glass. this guy is fancy, he is doing it right. I want to go to a restaurant. Three were utensils: a fork, a knife, and a spoon. Ron washed the two pieces of china consecutively, the two glasses consecutively, and the three utensils consecutively. Alright cool, you should probably remember this. I don't think we even have china in the house and if we did I probably would only use it on special occasions. I wonder if it's Ron's birthday. ok. focus. He washed the objects as follows:
He washed each of the objects exactly once. got it.
He washed the glassware after either the china or the utensils but not after both. ok, cool.
He washed the knife before the spoon, and he washed the mug before the plate. WOAH WOAH WOAH. calm down Ron.
He did not wash any two objects at the same time. ok good to know. where's the question. oh! found it!
1. Which one of the following statements CANNOT be true?
a. Ron washed the fork first OH MY GOSH! his name is Ron! Like Ron Weasley! I love Harry Potter....
After that realization I digressed to singing songs from A Very Potter Musical and then went for a run. I'd rather be a Weasley than a Cullen. It's a very good thing that I have a year to study for the LSATs.
